i have a working theory that in 30 years or so hyperpop will have become the equivalent of punk today where a legion of middle aged conservatives who spent their youth within the movement look back on it nostalgically while disregarding like, everything about the community that created it. and then a bunch of teens on flipflop will rediscover hyperpop and be like "oh well a bunch of trans socialists made hyperpop this must mean that its inherently a revolutionary counterculture" and decide that their conservative parents are doing hyperpop incorrectly and start arbitrarily sorting things into being Hyperpop or Not Hyperpop until we get takes such as "liking taylor swift is hyperpop" (taylor swift is still alive due to having her life artificially prolonged via cryogenics but shes still making the same exact music)
